Islamophobia on Rise in France

Head of the Organization for Monitoring Islamophobia in France said the wave of anti-Islamic moves trend has been growing in the country.
Abdullah Dhikri said in the first six months of the current year, there has been a 35-percent rise in Islamophobic activities in France, compared to the rate in the same period the year before.
He said 108 anti-Islamic actions were registered in the country in the first half of the year, while the number was 80 in 2012.
Abdullah Dhikri expressed concerns over the growing trend of Islamophobia, especially against Hijab-wearing Muslim women.
France is home to the largest Muslim minority in Western Europe. Its Muslim population is estimated at around 6 million.
