Call for Ramadan I’tikaf in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan’s Grand Mufti called on Kyrgyz Muslims to attend I’tikaf ceremonies during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.
According to IQNA’s branch in Central Asia, mosques in Bishkek, the capital city of the republic, particularly the Grand Mosque of the city host Ramadan I’tikaf programs.
The mosques of the country have been actively involved in religious and Quranic programs during the holy month and Quran reading sessions have been held in 900 mosques so far.
The Kyrgyz Clerics Office expected that the entire Quran will be recited 1300 times by the end of the holy month of Ramadan in different mosques all over Kyrgyzstan.
It is an annual tradition in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan to perform I’tikaf during the last ten days of the holy month.
A person observing I'tikaf spends the evening and night in the mosque, devoting his or her time to worshiping God and reading the Quran.
