In Case of an Attack on Syria, US Would Face a Quagmire Like Vietnam
If the United States launches a strike against Syria, it will face a quagmire like the one in Vietnam.
This is according to Nazi Karimi, a Bahraini Islamic and Quranic activist who told IQNA that the US conspiracy against Syria demonstrates that the democracy claimed by Washington is deceitful and unreal.
She said Syria is a strong front in support of Palestine and this significant role has been targeted by the world arrogance.
By plotting against Syria, the world arrogance will not be aiming at Syria alone, but it is obvious to everyone that its allies including Hezbollah and the Islamic Republic of Iran that is a big power against the world arrogance are going to be the next targets, Ms Karimi said.
She said the US and Israel have worked constantly to destroy Islam but failed and now they try to destroy Muslims. “To this end, they have started from Syria and their attempts have been manifested in the form of killings and bloodshed.”
She said if Muslims fail to confront these seditions, the massacres happening in Syria will spread to other countries as well.
The Bahraini activists stressed that as many analysts and observers have predicted, in case of military intervention in Syria, the US will be entangled in a Vietnam-like predicament. “Such an attack would be the end of this domineering power, a country whose policy is dominating the world… and is working to destroy countries in the name of democracy.”
Asked about the role of Islamic, Arab and international originations like the Arab League in fighting the enemies’ plots, Ms Karimi said the Arab League and other similar organizations and even some Arab regimes are puppets in the hands of the hegemonic powers and work in line with the interests and objectives of these powers.
She said international organizations claim to be advocating freedom and democracy but in reality do nothing to materialize these slogans.
Elsewhere in her remarks, Ms Karimi referred to the tide of Islamic Awakening that has swept the region and said the governments that were overthrown as a result of the Islamic Awakening were dictatorship that did everything they could to remain in power.
She added that the feeling of Jihad and resistance has been strengthened among Muslim youth as a result of the Islamic Awakening and Muslims have realized today that there is no way to confront the enemy plots except resistance.
