If the US launches a strike against Syria, the world public opinion will not remain passive.
Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Pakistan Taqi Sadeqi made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that the US threats of military intervention in Syria have intensified world people’s hatred toward Washington.
He noted that the US has shown no commitment to international laws and that if it attacks Syria, it will have broad consequences for the region and the world.
Sadeqi said the world will not support a possible US invasion and that is why Washington will not get what it seeks in Syria, but an attack will bring more legitimacy for the Syrian government in the country and in the world.
He added that lack of support for the US government will cause divisions among Syria’s rebels and then resistance groups will have the opportunity to deal a blow to Israel. “Hence, a military intervention in Syria will ultimately be detrimental to the Zionist regime.”
He said such an attack will be in the interest of the Syrian government in the long run as its failure will strengthen the axis of resistance and weaken US allies in the region.
Sadeqi stressed that the Syrian people have proved that they will continue to support Bashar Al-Assad and will not abandon resistance.
He went on to say that the Syrian rebels will ultimately have to accept a diplomatic solution.
