“Rabee’ Al-Risala” Int’l Festival Planned in Karbala

The 8th edition of Rabee’ Al-Risala” International Cultural Festival will be held from January 17 to 19 in the holy city of Karbala.


According to the information website of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, the program will be organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Ja’far Sadeq (AS).

The custodianship of the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) will cooperate in holding the cultural program.

“Rasul A’zam, Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH), guide and savior” is the motto of this edition of the festival.

Ali Kazem Sultan, head of the information section of Husseini holy shrine, said that the organizing committees of the festival started the preliminary programs including forums and workshops with the participation of researchers and intellectuals from different universities of Iraq and other countries.

Among the programs were some sessions held with the presence of Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalayi, Secretary General of Husseini holy shrine.

Wasit University of Iraq has also cooperated in the organization of the festival by informing researchers about the themes of the event and distributing brochures of the festival in different universities of Iraq.

He added that the Husseini holy shrine plans to hold a scientific book fair on the sidelines of the festival with the aim of promoting the students’ knowledge.

An exhibition of calligraphy, illumination, poetry reading sessions and Quranic circles are among the sideline programs of the festival.
