Iraqi President Calls for Unity against Extremism
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iraq’s President Fuad Masum urged for unity among the country’s tribes and religious sects to eradicate extremism and radicalism.
“In order to root out extremism and radicalism, it is necessary to enhance unity and solidarity among different sects and tribes in the country,” Masum said in a statement.
He added that Iraqi people will continue resistance against extremist groups that attempt to undermine Islam’s values and teachings.
The ISIL terrorists control some parts of Syria and Iraq. They are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control. ISIL militants have terrorized and killed people of all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
