TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran activist from Iraq referred to the international Quran competition for Muslim students as an opportunity for the participants to exchange Quranic ideas and experiences.

Adnan Qassem al-Salehi, who will serve as a member of the competition’s jury panel, added that such grand contests held at the international level help Muslims to present the image of true Islam to the world.

They also help to promote the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and enhance Islamic unity, he stressed.

The 5th edition of the International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students is scheduled to begin in a ceremony on Thursday.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Al-Salehi referred to Quranic activities in Iraq, saying that a number of universities in the country organize competitions on recitation, interpretation and memorization of the Quran.

He added that efforts have been made in Iraqi academic centers to train Quran experts to develop Quranic activities and program in the country.
