60 Quran Memorizers Honored in Egypt

TEHRAN (IQNA) - In a ceremony held on February 1, 60 male and female Quran memorizers were honored in Qena Governorate in Egypt.


According to Al-Fajr website, the ceremony was held with the presence of Imad Shakir, deputy of Egyptian Ministry of Education, Hisham Hilal, director of the country’s Center of the Muslim Youth and some of the executive officials of the governorate.

The Quran memorizers were the winners of a Quran memorization competition held with more than 1100 participants.

Memorization of the entire Quran, 15 Juzes (parts) of Quran, a quarter of the Holy Quran and memorization of some Juzes of the Quran were the categories of the competition with 13, 24, 12 and 11 winners in each category respectively.

The top Quran memorizers were awarded 8000 Egyptian Liras by the ministry and 2600 Liras by the center.
