Nat’l Quran Memorization Competition Planned in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The 54th edition of national Quran memorization competition for Qatari students will be organized by the country’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry starting from March 8.


According to Al-Sharq website, 24000 girls and boys from public and private schools of the country will participate in this edition of the competition to be held in cooperation with Qatar’s Supreme Council of Education.

The competition of male students will be held at the Quran Memorization Center affiliated to the Quranic Sciences Section of Qatar’s Office of Dissemination and Religious Guidance in Al-Muntazah region of Doha.

Bint Muhammad Museum in Al-Wa’ab region of the city will host the competition of female students.

Yusuf Ali Hassan al-Muazzin, head of the Quranic center said that the organization of the Quranic event shows how much attention the government pays for encouraging the students to memorize the Holy Quran and contemplate meanings of the Divine verses.

He noted that this edition of the competition will be held with 2000 participants more than the previous year’s.

The participation of 332 schools of the country in the national Quranic event shows the status of such competitions among the educational centers.

Memorization of Surah Al-Fajr to Al-Shura for students at elementary school to the third year of high school and memorization of 7 to 30 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran are various categories of the competition.

Al-Muazzin added that the programs of the two-week competition have been announced on the website of the center at www.qsave.net.
