Al-Mualla Holy Quran Award Concludes in UAE

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The closing ceremony of the 8th edition of the student Quran competition titled “Rashid bin Ahmad Al-Mualla Holy Quran Award” was organized on March 14 in Umm Al-Quwain region of the United Arab Emirates.


According to Al-Bayan website, the program was attended by Sheikh Muhammad bin Sa’ud bin Rashid Al-Mualla, head of the competition’s Board of Trustees, Jasim Sayf Bu’Usayba, vice president of the board, Sultan bin Rashid Al-Kharji, advisor to the UAE’s health minister, Ahmad Al-Kharji, advisor to the region’s Office of Education and a number of families of the participants at the competition.

Bu’Usayba said that the main objective of the competition is to encourage the students to get closer to the Holy Quran and act upon it.

He added that the preliminary stage of the competition was held with 370 girls and boys, from among them 170 ones qualified to compete in the final stage.

The official noted that the Quranic event provided an opportunity for the students to memorize the Holy Quran’s verses and develop Islamic culture.

At the end of the ceremony, top participants in the final stage of the competition were awarded by Sheikh Muhammad bin Sa’ud Rashid Al-Mualla.
