According to Alaan newspaper, Ya’qub Al-Ahmad, head of the information committee of this edition of the competition said that the Quranic event will kick off on April 3 and continue for a week.
It will be organized by the Quranic Affairs Office of Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
“The Best Technological Plan for Serving Quran” is the new category included in this year’s competition.
Hamidreza Abbasi and Peyman Ayazi will represent the Islamic Republic respectively in the recitation and memorization category of the contest.
Abbasi, who is from the northeastern city of Mashhad, came third in the 36th edition of Iran’s national Quran competition.
He has also won the 4th rank in Malaysia’s International Holy Quran Award.
Ayazi is from the northern province of Mazandaran. Last year, he represented Iran in the international Quran competitions in Tunisia, Russia and Algeria.
The previous edition of Kuwait’s International Holy Quran Award was attended by 107 representatives from 57 countries.
Seyyed Mohammad Kermani and Hassan Soleimani were Iranian representatives at the recitation and memorization categories of the 5th edition of the contest.
