Iran’s Abbasi Comes 3rd in Kuwait Int’l Quran Award

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Hamid Reza Abbasi came third in Kuwait International Quran Competition.

 Abbasi, who represented the Islamic Republic in the recitation category of the contest, managed to win the third rank in this category.

Quran reciters from Turkey and Iraq respectively bagged the first and second prize in the category.
Peyman Ayazi who competed for Iran in Quran memorization was not among the top winners.
Winners in various categories of the competition were awarded at the closing ceremony on Wednesday night.
The sixth edition of Kuwait International Holy Quran Award was held in the Persian Gulf country from March 30 to April 19.
100 Quran reciters and memorizers from some 60 countries competed in the Quranic event.
It is annually organized by the Quranic Affairs Department of Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
