The registration will take place from May 23 to 28, 8am to 12.30pm and from 4pm to 8pm, at the Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Hall in Fereej Kulaib, the GTimes reported.
In the juniors category of the contest, male and female citizens and residents compete in the memorization of one of the last five parts of the Noble Qur’an. This will be the third edition of the juniors contest.
According to the terms of the competition, contestants must be citizens or residents of Qatar, and should be 12 years or below for Qatari citizens and eight or below for residents. Contestants are not entitled to take part in any other section of the contest in the same season. Besides, residents who have participated in the contest with a part of the Qur’an may not do so with the same part again. They can participate with another part from the last five parts of the Noble Qur’an, according to the organizers.
The juniors section of the competition was launched during the contest’s 20th session two years ago. More than 2,000 male and female contestants have taken part in it over two years (2013 and 2014).
The contest has seen a steady expansion in the number of sections and also witnessed a significant yearly increase in contestants, which has reached a total of 26,694 males and females since its inception, the organizers add.
Launching the contest in its new form paved the way for the addition of new sections and provided strong foundations for expansion through social and media partnerships, the most prominent of which is an active partnership with the Noble Qur’an Broadcasting Service through the radio program, ‘Ahlul-Quran’.
A new section was launched for new converts to Islam and an international dimension was added with the launch of a special section for non-Arabic speakers.
