Winners of North Europe Quran Competition Honored

TEHRAN (IQNA) - Top participants in the 3rd edition of the Quran competition in Northern Europe were honored in a ceremony in Sweden.


According to the website of Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center, the competition was held earlier this week with the participation of 62 Quran activists from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.





Quran recitation, memorization, Tarteel, Quranic concepts and Adhan were the categories of the competition.





It was held for two age groups, teenagers under 16 and adults.





 Disseminating the Holy Quran’s teachings and the Quranic culture, paving the way for the progress of Quran activists and providing an opportunity for them to exchange experiences , helping Quran reciters and memorizers to get closer to the Divine Word, developing unity in the European Quranic society, and identifying Quranic talents in the region were the main objectives of the competition.





In the adults category, Waheed Heidari and Basheer Adel from Sweden won the first and the second ranks in recitation category and the third-rank winners in this category were Soheil Alizadeh and Muhammad Abdulrahman from Sweden.





In the teenagers category, Yusuf Al-Asadi, Badr Al-Husna from Sweden were top participants respectively in recitation and memorization of 10 Juzes (parts).





Winners in memorization of 5 Juzes and the last part of the Quran were Seyyed Muntadhar Al-Hulw and Hussein Amiri from Denmark.





And Seyyed As’ad Al-Mousawi, Kadhim Nejati and Seyyed Muhsen Fadhil from Sweden were the first winners in Tarteel, Adhan and Quranic concepts respectively.





The top winner in the recitation category will participate in the next year’s international Quran competition in Iran.
