The resolution urges all States to ensure that all actors involved in the trade in cultural property, including auction houses, art dealers, and museum professionals, provide verifiable documentation on the provenance of such artifacts.
On this occasion, ISESCO called on the Member States and the international community to abide by this resolution, prevent trafficking in stolen artifacts, and punish those who sabotage or destruct archaeological and cultural monuments, which are a common heritage of humanity that must be preserved.
ISESCO also stressed that this resolution be issued by the UN Security Council in order for it to internationally binding.
