Behzadfar, who has learned the entire Quran by heart, is 15 years old.
He was selected as Iran’s representative after he came first in the 36th national Quran competition for kids.
Behzadfar has also won a third title in the international Quran competition of Bangladesh.
He will leave for Dubai on Tuesday, June 23.
The 19th edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award will begin on the first day of Ramadan (July 18) and run for 21 days.
It will see the participation of Quran memorizers and reciters from 80 countries, the organizers have announced.
The annual event also involves a series of lectures in various languages besides the main component of the Quran recitation competition.
This year, it will be held at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The winner of the competition will get a cash prize of Dh250,000, while the first runner-up gets Dh200,000 and second runner-up stands to gain Dh150,000.
