TEHRAN (IQNA) –Bahraini revolutionaries and opposition groups have opened an Islamic center in Germany.

It was launched in a ceremony attended by a number of Bahraini scholars and political activists, Sahfaqna reported.

Ali Mashima, a Bahraini activist, in an address to the ceremony stressed the need for more attention to the developments in Bahrain.

He said every Bahraini should be an ambassador of the country’s peaceful revolution and convey the voice of the oppressed to the world.

Mashima noted that many Bahrainis have been forced to leave the country and live elsewhere due to the al Khalifa regime’s oppression.

He went on to say that the center has been launched with the aim of helping Bahrainis living in Germany to forge links with international bodies and organizations in a bid to spread support for the peaceful revolution in the Persian Gulf country.

Since mid-February 2011, almost daily protests have been held on the streets of Bahrain, with the people of the country calling for the Al Khalifa royal family to relinquish power.

Bahrainis have pledged to continue protests against the ruling Al Khalifa regime until their demand for a democratically-elected government is met.
