Forum in Albania Discusses ‘Values of Ramadan’

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A forum was held in Albania earlier this week to discuss the values and virtues of the holy month of Ramadan.


It was organized by the southern European country’s Muslims Committee, the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported.



A number of Muslim clerics as well as Abbas Azizi, the Iranian cultural attaché in Tirana, were present at the forum.



Addressing the event, head of Albania Muslims Committee underlined that fasting during the holy month gets one closer to God.



Other speakers urged contemplating the Quranic concepts and teachings in Ramadan.



Different social aspects of the holy month were also discussed at the forum.



The holy month of Ramadan, the month of fasting and prayers, began on Thursday, June 18, this year.



During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.



They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
