The country’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) has organized the courses under the title of “Get More Connected with Quran This Summer”.
Participants learn Quran reading, recitation, and Tajweed as well as religious teachings, the website of Diyanet said.
According to Saleh Zengin, a cleric involved in organizing the courses, the aim is to promote Quranic and Islamic teachings among children and students.
He said those who score the best in the examinations to be held at the end of the program will be awarded.
The summer Quranic courses will continue until Friday, August 21, the report said.
Turkey is a Muslim majority country in West Asia. Over 99 percent of the country’s population adhere to Islam.
