This is according to Mohammad Reza Mosayyebzadeh, the director of the ministry’s Quran, Prayers and Etrat Department, who added that special attention will be paid to Quran memorization in the coming school year (starts in mid-September).
Mosayyebzadeh added that the ministry will continue the thematic Quran memorization plan as part of the efforts to promote memorization of the Holy Book among students, IRIBNEWS reported.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of the Quran, Etrat and Prayers competitions for boys, which concludes on Sunday in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.
More than 800 students from all over the country are competing in the contest’s different categories, including Quran recitation, Quran memorization and Adhan (call to prayers).
