Addressing the 6th General Assembly of the World Assembly of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), Sheikh Qassem said Muslim countries are facing three challenges today, namely lack of independent decision making, the Zionist regime and Takfiri terrorism.
He described Iran as the pillar of resistance and a role model for challenging the enemies.
The Hezbollah official further said regional countries, especially Iran, should be responsible for safeguarding the security of the region.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Qassem reiterated the need for unity among Sunni and Shia Muslims and confronting Takfiri terrorism.
The 6th General Assembly of the World Assembly of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) kicked off in Tehran on Saturday morning.
The opening ceremony was addressed by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
Some 700 foreign guests from 130 countries as well as Iranian cultural and political figures are present at the event, which will run for four days.
