According to cairoportal.com, the competition has been organized by the Sultan Qaboos Center for Islamic Culture in six categories.
Memorization of the entire Quran with observation of Tajweed principles, memorization of 24, 18, 12 and 6 Juzes (parts) of Quran for participants aged less than 15 and memorization of two Juzes with Tajweed principles for children less than 8 are the categories of the competition.
The judging board of the competition started its activities at the center in Bowshar region of Muscat, the capital city of Oman.
106 male and female Quran memorizers have participated in this edition of the national event in Muscat. Total number of participants in the preliminary stage is 1558.
The main objective of the organizers of the competition is to encourage the younger generation to memorize the Divine verses and act upon the valuable teachings of the Quran.
Raising a Quranic generation based on the Divine teachings which lead the society towards salvation and training skillful representatives for international Quran competitions are among the objectives of the organizers.
