According to hqmi.org, it was organized by “Hassan ibn Thabit” Quranic-Religious Institute in cooperation with the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization.
The Islamic-Cultural Center of the region hosted the competition which was held in four categories.
Memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 15, and 3 Juzes (parts) of Quran and one Juz were the categories of the competition.
Winners were awarded in a ceremony with the presence of Ameenah Gurib, President of Mauritius, Basheer Jahangir, Parliament representative, Muhammad Yusuf Ali Jam’an, representative of the organization and some of scholars and Quran experts.
The speakers in the ceremony stressed the importance of Quran teaching, the need of Muslims to learn the reading of the Holy Quran, and appreciated the efforts of the organization in serving the Divine Book and disseminating Quranic culture in the world.
