Yasir Ahmad from Aleppo, Umar Ahmad Hassan Agha from Latakia, and Abdulaziz Tahir Al-Sawas from Aleppo respectively won the first ranks in memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of 20 and 10 Juzes (parts) of Quran.

Muhammad Abdul Sattar Al-Sayyed, Syrian Minister of Awqaf, said that despite the problems and enemies’ plots against Syria, the country has still the first rank among other countries in the field of Quran memorization.

He said that such important status has been achieved as a result of the presence of scholars, Quran memorizers and Al-Assad Quran memorization institutes in Syria.

He added that the institutes established by late Hafez Al-Assad have been actively involved in training Quran memorizers under the supervision of Bashar Al-Assad, the President of Syria, who has recently introduced Quran interpretation as another activity of the institutes.
