The first international Quran competition for the visually-impaired will be hosted by Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer Hall) in the Iranian capital of Tehran on May 12-17.
Abdol Ghafour Joharchi has been selected to compete for Iran at the upcoming Quranic event.
More than 30 countries are expected to send their representatives to the competition, organizers said earlier.
The first edition will be for men and will only feature the category of Quran memorization but more categories could be added in the future editions.
It will be held concurrent with the 33rd international Quran competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
