Nat’l Quran Competition Planned in Basra, Iraq
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 9th edition of a national Quran memorization and recitation competition titled “Alif Laam Meem” will be held on the 27th of the holy month of Ramadan in Basra, Iraq.
According to Qaaf news agency, the Al-Nur Al-Mubin Quranic Association will organize the competition at Ahl-ul-Bait (AS) Grand Mosque of the city.
Memorization of 10 Juzes (parts) and 5 Juzes of the Quran and recitation are the three categories of the competition.
The participants in the first and the third categories should be under 30 years of age and those willing to participate in the second category should be under 20. All the participants should also score 70 out of 100 in a preliminary examination.
Top winners of the last year’s Quranic event cannot participate in this edition of the competition.
The organizing committee of the competition has said that Quranic institutes of the country can have one representative in each category.
