In association with Awqaf (General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments), the four-day event will be inaugurated at 10pm on June 20, an ISC press release said.
The competition aims to encourage people to read and memorize the Holy Quran and to recite it in a competitive environment. An eminent panel of judges approved by Awqaf will judge the competition, Gnews reported.
The competition at the ISC building is open to all nationalities and the entry is free. The ISC expects good attendance for the event and necessary arrangements have been made accordingly. Prayer facilities at the ISC and pickup and drop-off arrangements for participants from various locations will also be made.
Winners in each of five categories will be awarded with mementos and cash prizes. Appreciation certificates and consolation prizes will be given to all shortlisted participants. A contestant can participate only in one level or category and has to submit his or her entry form by June 19.
