Ibrahim Bu Melha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Head of DIHQA organizing committee, said the 13th edition of the contest will be held at the award's headquarters in Al Mamzar area at 4pm. "So far, 27 participants, including 14 males and 13 females, have been selected for the contest."

Mohammed Abdulrahim Sultan Alolama, member of the DIHQA organizing committee and head of competitions unit, said valuable prizes await the winners, KTimes reported. "Application for the contest was open for 26 days from August 28 till September 22."

The contest, which is held annually is aimed at encouraging Emiratis to memorize the Holy Quran in full. "The program has produced an elite group of Emirati Quran memorizers who compete in local contests and efficiently represent the country in international competitions," Bu Melha pointed out. "Having a problem nominating a national memorizer for a Quran contest abroad has become history due to this wonderful program, which is expected to see more male and female competitors due to the lucrative awards."

Only Emiratis can participate in the contest, and all applicants need to memorize the Holy Quran in full, Alolama stated. "They should not have participated in any of the DIHQA's previous 20 editions, or have been honored as one of the top 10 winners in any of the contest previous editions," he added.
