TEHRAN (IQNA) – A program is planned to be held in Tehran on Friday to honor 16 Iranian veteran Quran activists.

16 Quran Veterans to Be Honored for Serving Quran


The Shams Hall in the capital city will host the 16th edition of the gathering, titled "A Lifetime with the Quran”.

Qari and Quran teacher Mohsen Badpa, internationally-acclaimed Quran reciter Ali Akbar Malekshahi, Quranic artist Hossein Mahjoub, and Quran activist Nasrin Nafezkalam are among those to be honored at the event.

Tehran’s municipality organizes the gathering in cooperation with the Quran Culture House on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

During Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.

This year, Ramadan, known as the month of Quran, began on Saturday, May 27.
