According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), 70 elementary school students from different parts of Uganda took part in the contest, which was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in the country.
The competition lasted for twenty days for selection of the top three winners in the boys and girls sections.
Winners were awarded at the closing ceremony held at the Muslims High Council in the Ugandan capital city of Kampala.
Addressing the event, Sheikh Shaban Ramadan Mubaja, the Mufti of Uganda, hailed the Quranic contest and appreciated the Iranian cultural center for supporting Quranic and religious activities.
Iranian Cultural Attache Ali Bakhtiari also addressed the ceremony,
thanking the Muslims High Council and Radio Bilal for the successful
organization of the contest.
