Hojat-ol-Islam Reza Hojabri, head of the Quranic Affairs Section at the province’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Department said the programs are slated for the holy month of Ramadan (May 17- June 14).
He added that a number of prominent Iranian Quran reciters will also take part in the Quranic programs.
Hojat-ol-Islam Hojabri further referred to the department’s other Quranic activities, saying some 14,500 Quran memorizers are planned to be trained in the province in the current Iranian calendar year (March 2017- March 2018).
There are also plans, among other things, to hold a training course for 50 Quran teachers in the province, he added.
Every year, various Quranic programs are organized all over Iran during the month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar. This year, it began on Tuesday, June 7.
During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
