Croatia’s 25th international Quran competition is slated to be held on October 27-29 in the categories of recitation and memorization of the Holy Quran.

The Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization announced that the Islamic Republic will have representatives in both categories, Isna reported.

Kazem Azarpira will compete for Iran in recitation while Mohammad Rasoul Takbiri will take part in the memorization category.

Born in 1991, Azarpira is a BA student of Fiqh and Islamic law. He started learning Quran recitation at the age of 17 and benefited from the expertise of Quran masters like Mehdi and Nasser Daghagheleh, Seyed Karim Mousavi and Gholam Reza Shahmiveh.

Takbiri was born in Tehran in 1995 and started learning the Quran by heart in 2007. He managed to memorize the entire Holy Book in 2 years.

The Quranic Affairs Center had earlier named Abuzar Karami as Iran’s representative in Russia’s 19th international Quran contest.

The Quranic event will be held in Moscow on October 18-20.
