Lebanese Scholar Laid to Rest in Qom
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Senior Lebanese cleric and Islamic scholar Sheikh Hussein Kourani who died on Thursday was laid to rest at the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) in Qom, Iran.
The funeral was held at the holy shrine on Saturday evening.
The Salat al-Janazah (funeral prayer) was led by the custodian of the holy shrine, Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Saeedi.
Sheikh Kourani died this week at the age of 64 after some eight months of illness.
Born in 1955 in the Jabal Amel region in south of Lebanon, he studied Islamic sciences in Najaf and Qom.
He had an active participation in the establishment of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement.
