They were martyred in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3.
According to dar-alquran.org, the Quranic program was organized by the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the holy shrine’s Astan (custodianship).
Rasul Alwazni, head of the Quranic programs department of the center said that Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalayi, custodian of the holy shrine, ordered the organizing of the session.
He added that it was attended by a large number of citizens and pilgrims of the holy shrine.
A number of internationally known Qaris, including Haj Osama Al-Karbalayi, Adil Al-Karbalayi, and Falah Zalif recited verses from the Quran in the session.
The secretariat of the Astans of Imam Hussein’s (AS) and Hazrat Abbas’ (AS) holy shrines had also organized a mourning ceremony for the martyrs at Bayn Al-Haramayn (the distance between the two holy shrines) last week.
