Iran’s FM Meets with Syrian President, FM in Damascus
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Forego Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The meeting was held in Damascus on Monday during Zarif’s one-day trip to the Arab country, according to the Foreign Ministry’s website.
The Iranian top diplomat also held talks with his Syrian counterpart Walid al-Muallem.
Bilateral relations, the development of the situation in the region, as well as political changes and the development of the situation on the ground in the fight against terrorism were among the topics of discussion during Zarif’s meetings in the Syrian capital.
Iran has been a main supporter of Syria in its battle against foreign-backed militancy.
