TEHRAN (IQNA) – Every year in the holy month of Ramadan Turkey’s Muslims decorate and light up streets.

There is usually a great atmosphere of celebration and festivity in cities during the month, especially at nights.

However, this year it is different due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mosques are closed to worshippers and streets are empty.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, marks the most special of all occasions for Muslims. It is a celebration of the descent of the Word of God, the Quran, from Heaven to the earth.
