98-Year-Old Woman Memorizes Quran
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A 98-year-old woman in Saudi Arabia managed to learn the entire Quran by heart.
Thamra Muhamamd Zafir al-Umairi al-Shahri memorized the Quran at a Quranic center in Tanomah, west of the country, al-Arabiya reported.
Saad bin Saeed, her son, says the old woman began memorizing the Holy Book back in 1989.
He said it was difficult for his mother to memorize the verses at first but she continued until learning the entire Quran by heart.
The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.
Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.
The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
