Calls for Reopening Quran Centers in Jordan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Managers of Quranic and religious centers have called for permission to be given for reopening the centers.
Hisham Kharisat, head of Khilda Quranic Institute, said there are some 2,400 Quranic centers in the country, ammon.news website reported.
He added that there are many teachers and other staff working at the centers that offer Quranic courses to some 65,000 men and women.
While sports academies and music classes, among others, have been reopened, Quranic and religious centers remain closed, he deplored.
The decision on whether or not to reopen the Quranic centers in Jordan will be taken on Wednesday.
Jordan announced on March 20 a nationwide curfew that closed shops and prohibited the movement of people due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The country has reported 1,047 COVID-19 cases and 9 deaths from the disease.
