TEHRAN (IQNA) – People held a rally in southern Yemen to condemn desecration of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) in France and French authorities’ anti-Islam stances.

The rally was held Monday in Abyan Governorate, Yemen Akhbar reported.

The participants carried banners and chanted slogans in condemnation of the growing Islamophoic acts and remarks in France.

They also denounced the move by some Arab states to normalize ties with the Zionist regime of Israel.

The demonstrators described such moves as betrayal of Palestine and the Palestinian nation.

They also condemned the presence of UAE and Israeli forces on Socotra Island in southeast Yemen.

In August, reports revealed that Israel, in cooperation with the UAE, is to build intelligence-gathering bases on the Yemeni island located in a strategic area overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

It also said that a delegation of Israeli and Emirati intelligence officers had already arrived on the island very recently and examined various locations for establishing the planned intelligence bases.
