Quranic Programs in Axis of Resistance Countries Mark Gen. Soleimani Martyrdom Anniversary

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A number of Quranic ceremonies were organized in the countries of axis of resistance making the first martyrdom anniversary of Lt. General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

 

The programs, held simultaneously in Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, were broadcast live on IRIB Quran TV and Quran Radio.  

They included recitation of the Quran by prominent Qaris.

The first recitation was performed by Iraqi Qari Sheikh Meytham Tammar and broadcast from Baghdad International Airport, where the two commanders were assassinated a year ago.

Sheikh Muhammad Nabil Amhaz in Lebanon and Iranian Qari Yusuf Jafarzadeh, who was at the holy shrine of Hzarat Zeynab (SA) in Syria, also recited verses from the Holy Book.

There were also Quran recitations by Mojtaba Yadollahi and Majid Talebizadeh at the tomb of Martyr Soleimani in the southern Iranian city of Kerman.

On January 3, 2020, a US drone strike authorized by President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport killed top Iranian anti-terror commander General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and his Iraqi trenchmate Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was the deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU).
