TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the 39th Quran contest for Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) personnel is due to be held online or in-person in a few weeks.

The director of the IRGC’s Dar-ul-Quran Center told IQNA that the preliminary stage of the contest in the Quranic concepts category will be organized in-person all over the country.

The source of this category of the competition is the 23rd Juz (part) of the Quran and it will be held for about 500 members of the IRGC, Colonel Mohammad Dianat said.

He added that the semi-final and final stages of the competition in oral categories have been planned to be held in February and March.

The official said that the organizers prefer to hold the competition in-person in the holy city of Mashhad, but if the coronavirus restrictions continue, they will hold it online.

Noting that the preliminary and semi-final stages of the competition in other categories were respectively held in August and December, he added that finalists of the competition have been selected through the one-week evaluation of the video files sent by the participants.
