TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony was held in Istanbul, Turkey, on Friday to honor 136 graduates of Quran memorization courses.

 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and a number of other senior officials attended the event at the iconic Hagia Sophia Mosque, Anadolu Agency reported.

It began with recitation of verses from the Quran, followed by presentation of degrees to the graduates.

Erdogan’s grandson and the son of speaker of the Turkish parliament were among the memorizers.

At the ceremony, the Turkish president also recited verses from the Holy Book and presented gifts to the participants.
