Quran Memorizers Flag-Bearers of Islam: Senior Cleric
Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri addressed a ceremony held on Sunday to honor memorizers of the Quran Teaching Center of the holy shrine in Rey, south of Tehran.
He highlighted the status of Quran activists and said that according to Hadiths, Quran memorizers are those who carry the Quran.
Anyone who shows hostility to them is actually showing hostility to God and anyone who likes them actually likes God, the cleric added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Reyshahri, who is also a memorizer and Mufassir (Quran interpreter), appreciated the efforts of Quran experts and others who pave the way for the promotion of the Quranic culture among teenagers and the youth.
He said memorizing and teaching the Holy Book is a great blessing for those who teach and learn the Quran.
At the ceremony, 9 memorizers who have managed to learn the entire Quran by heart at the center received awards and certificates of honor.
