TEHRAN (IQNA) – Bahrain’s Iqra Society for Quranic Sciences has started construction of a Quranic tower dubbed Tuba in the northern town of A'ali.

The foundation of the tower was laid in a ceremony on Monday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA), according to Qafqn.com.

Prominent Shia cleric Sayyid Abdullah Al-Ghuraifi attended the event, lauding the coincidence of the project with the birthday of the daughter of Prophet (PBUH), noting that Hazrat Zahra (SA) is the soul of the Quran.

He also called on everyone who can to participate in the project.

Head of the Iqra Society Abdullah Abu Al-Hassan said that the body’s management decided to start construction work after collecting 50% of the budget required for the project, calling on everyone to take the initiative to contribute generously and support the project to complete the entire required budget.

For his part, the main contractor for the project, General Manager of Granada Group, Hassan Al-Mushaima, said that the Granada administration pays great attention to the project and that it will employ everything it can to produce the project in the best way and with the highest quality.

Iqra is among active Shia associations in the field of Quranic activities and competitions in Bahrain.
