TEHRAN (IQNA) – Kuwaiti inventor Jenan Al-Shehab withdrew from the Expo 2020 Dubai after the event held a ceremony to mark the so-called national day of the Israeli regime.

The Kuwaiti inventor and engineer, Jenan Al-Shehab, decided to officially cancel her participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai after the account affiliated to the event published the announcement for celebrating the so-called “Israel National Day”, according to Al-Quds Al-Arabi.

The exhibition’s account on Instagram had posted a picture of the Israeli pavilion in a story, writing “Let’s celebrate with Israel”. Using the same story, Shehab added the phrase “And Unfollow”, noting that she has announced her withdrawal from the event.

The inventor’s decision was welcomed by many Arab netizens who hailed Kuwait’s adherence to its consistent position on rejecting normalization with the Zionist occupiers.

The withdrawal came just days after the same decision was made by young Kuwaiti tennis player Muhammad al-Awadi who had refused to compete with a representative of the Israeli regime.

Al-Awadi’s photos were reportedly spread in the streets of Kuwait in appreciation of his support for Palestine.

Janan Al-Shehab is a prominent engineer and inventor who has gained several medals in international events for her inventions.
