TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Tehran-based Quranic Interactive Voice Response (IVR) attracts more than one million calls every year.

Titled "Neday-e Quran" [call of the Quran], the system was launched in 2002 by a Quranic center affiliated with Tehran Municipality. The IVR is accessible by dialing 1440 in the Iranian capital.

Various features have been added to the system in the past years.

Users can now access different recitations, interpretations, translations, and Quranic stories through the on-demand system.

The system is also scheduled to launch special services for the memorizers of the Quran in the current year. Accordingly, the recitation of a given verse can be repeated once or three times which can help memorizers better commit the Book to their memory.
