Zanzibar Ready to Enhance Coop. with Al-Mustafa Int'l University

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Zanzibar President Hussein Ali Mwinyi has expressed readiness to boost cooperation with Al-Mustafa International University.

 

Mwinyi met and held talks with Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Taghavi, head of the international university's branch in Tanzania.

Hailing the valuable scientific activities of Al-Mustafa University, the president noted that the promotion of science among African people is of great importance for Zanzibar.

Authorities in Zanzibar are serious about promoting science and knowledge in the region and accordingly are ready to expand cooperation with Al-Mustafa International University.

Referring to the construction of an academic town in Zanzibar, Mwinyi said that his government is ready to offer the required land for building a branch of Al-Mustafa University.

Bilateral cooperation in academic fields can have invaluable results for current and next generations, he said.

For his part, Taghavi briefed on the academic activities of Al-Mustafa University, pointing to the signing of MoUs with more than 200 academic centers across the world.

The University has recently received an official license from Zanzibar government for establishing independent activities.
