London University Muslim Scholar Ali Ramadan al-Awsi Passes Away

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Ali Ramadan al-Awsi a Muslim scholar and Quranic researcher at the University of London, died on Monday.

He passed away in London after a long illness, his office said in a message.

It said al-Awsi spent his life in opposition to Kufr and oppressive regime, praying that his soul may rest in peace.

Al-Awsi was a university of London professor and director of the Center for Southern Iraq Studies.

He was a Middle East affairs analyst and also had studies in religious and cultural fields.

He would always support proximity of Islamic schools of thought and served as secretary of several Islamic unity conferences.

“Allameh Tabatabei’s Method in Al-Mizan Exegesis” is one of his books, in which he has discussed the sources that Allameh Tabatabaei used in writing his Quran interpretation.
