Qaris from Egypt, Syria, Pakistan Attend Quranic Program in Sindh

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An International Husn-i-Qirat (beauty of Quran recitation) Conference was organized by Sindh University’s Institute of Languages (Arabic & Persian) in Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan.

It was held at Shaikh Ayaz auditorium of the university on Thursday with qaris from Egypt, Syria and Pakistan reciting the Holy Book.

The conference began with the recitation by Qari Siraj while Qari Ahmed Ali Abbasi presented naat. Afterwards, Qari Islam Fikri Abdul Sattar of Egypt, his compatriot Shaikh Mohammad Wajih Diwan, Qari and Hafiz Hamdi Kanjo Atakhzoni from Syria, who had a large following all over the Arab world, presented his famous Arabic naat.

SU’s dean of Faculty of Islamic Culture Dr Hafiz Munir Ahmad Khan also recited some verses and received accolades from the participants. SU VC Dr Mohammad Siddique Kalhoro said that it cost Rs10 million to get one attain a PhD from abroad but madressahs (Quran schools) were preparing hafizs without spending any money.

“Allah Himself helps those who intend to memorize the Holy Quran,” he said.

He announced that a training course in Arabic language would be started soon like that of Chinese and Japanese so that young students could learn Arabic and understand the Quran directly.
