TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 1st International Conference on Family and Spiritual Education kicked off on Monday night on the sidelines of the 29th Tehran International Quran Exhibition.

1st International Conference on Family and Spiritual Education

Hojat-ol-Islam Mostafa Daryabari, secretary of the conference, said in the opening ceremony that the event proves that there is an international view on the issue of family and upbringing

The event will discuss both Shia and Sunni families, he said, noting, “We believe that the unity that we are after will be realized in a family that follows Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”

Another aspect of the conference, he continued, is that of Abrahamic religions. “We are seeking to establish a religious and faithful family because there are many commonalities in this area. Creating a spiritual and religious front is very important in the secular atmosphere.”

Ayatollah Reza Ramezani, a member of the Experts Council was the next speaker or the event.

He stressed that the Holy Quran has numerous verses regarding the family.

He noted that the liberalism in the West has led to the distortion of the concept of the family

Elsewhere, he rejected the view of some scholars who say that Europeans cannot understand the language of the Quran. This is not defendable because the language of the Quran is that of wisdom which is understandable at all times, he added.

The 29th Tehran International Quran Exhibition is underway at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) here in the Iranian capital for two weeks.
